Mel and Barbara Matsui founded Christopher Blue Jeans in 1996. Both of them had been in the fashion industry, and had a concept of their own: a line of jeans that are stylish, yet comfortable, and will fit women of all sizes. Though they did not spend any money on advertising or marketing, the jeans are incredibly popular. Satisfied customers have spread the word by mouth, and today the company sells $50 million in apparel each year. You can find Christopher Blue Jeans at Neiman-Marcus and Nordstrom, in addition to many small shops and boutiques across the country.
